While uploading documents to PaystubHQ is easy (and was made even easier with the introduction of multi-document uploads) we thought we could do better. So we have added the ability to add documents via email.
Just attach your document (or documents!) to an email and send it to the address specified by your plan’s administrator. The documents will automatically be uploaded into our system using the Subject and Body of the email as the title and comments, respectively, of your documents. No need to even open a browser.
This ability opens up other very helpful avenues of document handling such as using virtual fax services (like eFax) to fax documents right into your PaystubHQ account! Your scanner just got a little less useful.
PaystubHQ has long had the ability to allow users to upload documents which they can share with other users in their plan. But some times users had more than one document they wished to upload at a time and going through the process for each file was time consuming.
We have fixed that by introducing multi-document uploads.

After choosing the documents you wish to upload, you may enter the title, date, and any comments.
Additionally administrators can set the permissions for the documents. The allowable permissions are:
- Administrators Only
- Administrators and Specific Participants
- Administrators and All Participants
- Anyone
If you select “Administrators and Specific Participants” you will be shown a list of users in the current plan from which you can pick and choose who you want to see the document.
This will make it even easier to use PaystubHQ as your online file cabinet!
In our continuing effort to make life easier for plan administrators and participants everywhere we decided to focus our attention on enrollment forms. We’ve all had to fill them out, and we’re always glad we’re not in HR having to deal with stacks of them.
Well no one will have to struggle to read our handwriting anymore - introducing online enrollment forms! Your forms are completely custom allowing you to collect only the information you need and make the instructions as detailed as necessary eliminating confused users and frustrated plan administrators.

And those stacks of forms to go through? Gone. Export all the form responses in CSV format, import them into your favorite spreadsheet program, and you’re all set.

Tired of emailing your plan administrator to get your addressed fixed? Tired of receiving emails all day to fix the spelling of your participants’ son’s middle name? The PaystubHQ staff is very happy to tell all of you you will no longer have to do either of these. We have opened logins to all participants, not just plan and TPA administrators.
Dear participant, what does this mean for you? Once you have set up your account via our easy to use public sign up page, you will be logged into the system automatically where you have the freedom to make changes to your own account without having to wait for someone else to do it. You can also view your contributions as soon as they are accepted and upload documents for for your administrators to have on file.

And for you administrators it means less work! Accidentally wrote a participant’s address as “Street” instead of “Way”? They can log in and fix it themselves now. Need a document in a hurry? Have them log in and upload into the system. Easy!
We are committed to making your jobs and lives easier and this goes a long way in doing that.
We added Employed to the list of filter options for people, so that you see a list of all current employees. It is the opposite of our Terminated filter.

Two small changes were just rolled out in response to feedback from our customers.
- We replaced the “Welcome to your RetireHQ!” message with “Welcome to <insert TPA name here>!”
- We modified the “Help” support link for plan sponsors to send emails to administrators in the TPA account instead of sending emails to the RetireHQ team. Most emails we received dealt more with plan logistics than the software itself. Don’t worry, TPAs can still email us for support anytime.
Before today, TPAs could export pending participants and submitted contributions. Now TPAs can export any plans, participants, contributions, and censuses. In addition, any records that are updated (by the TPA or sponsor admins) are marked with an “Updated” status. This allows TPAs to easily keep their external systems in sync with RetireHQ. Details are as follows:
- Exports are in CSV format (and, as always, XML is available too).
- Two new inbox items keep track of “Updated Plans” and “Updated Participants.”
- Exporting any updated records clears their “Updated” status.
- TPAs can filter and search as desired, then export the results.
- Email notifications inform other TPA admins about exports.
- In plan mode, the TPA can export people, contributions, and censuses.

Today we added filters to help TPAs and their sponsors quickly see specific types of plans, people, contributions, documents, and censuses. Filters work together with searching, so you can further refine a filter to really focus in on what you’re looking for.
The image below shows the new filters on the Participants tab.

RetireHQ also remembers your filters and searches across each tab, so when you return to a tab it’ll display what you saw when you left it. Each inbox works this way too. Give it a try, we think you’ll like it.
We will be upgrading some of our servers from 9pm - 12am EST on Saturday, December 13, 2008. The application will be unavailable during this time. We apologize for any inconvience this may cause.
Due to popular demand, sponsor administrators can now upload documents to the TPA. This includes the following file types: Excel (xls), Word (doc), rich text format (rtf), text (txt), PDF, and zip.
TPAs will see a new Inbox item, “New Documents,” indicating new submitted documents waiting for processing. Documents that a TPA uploads will continue to work the same, with the addition of the new file types listed above.

It hasn’t been clear when a plan sponsor last logged in to RetireHQ. Until now. We’ve added an “Accessed” column to the Plans tab in TPA mode.

TPAs that prefer to keep each plan’s past contributions in RetireHQ can easily do so using the new bulk importer. Just click “Import Contributions” on the Contributions in TPA mode.

This week, we’ll be at the ASPPA Annual Conference in DC. If you are also there, please stop by and say hi. We promise you won’t miss our booth.
We will attend the ASPPA Annual Conference in DC this year! If you’re wondering why we’ve been a bit light on feature and updates lately, we’re busy planning and preparing our booth. We promise it will be different and exciting, so please stop by; we’re booth #307. See you there!
