Niceties for TPAs

Two small changes were just rolled out in response to feedback from our customers.

We replaced the “Welcome to your RetireHQ!” message with “Welcome to <insert TPA name here>!”

We modified the “Help” support link for plan sponsors to send emails to administrators in the TPA account instead of sending emails to the RetireHQ team. Most emails we received dealt more with plan logistics than the software itself. Don’t worry, TPAs can still email us for support anytime.

New Feature: Exporting and "Updated" status

Before today, TPAs could export pending participants and submitted contributions. Now TPAs can export any plans, participants, contributions, and censuses. In addition, any records that are updated (by the TPA or sponsor admins) are marked with an “Updated” status. This allows TPAs to easily keep their external systems in sync with RetireHQ. Details are as follows:

Exports are in CSV format (and, as always, XML is available too).

Two new inbox items keep track of “Updated Plans” and “Updated Participants.”

Exporting any updated records clears their “Updated” status.

TPAs can filter and search as desired, then export the results.

Email notifications inform other TPA admins about exports.

In plan mode, the TPA can export people, contributions, and censuses.

New Feature: Filters!

Today we added filters to help TPAs and their sponsors quickly see specific types of plans, people, contributions, documents, and censuses. Filters work together with searching, so you can further refine a filter to really focus in on what you’re looking for.

The image below shows the new filters on the Participants tab.

RetireHQ also remembers your filters and searches across each tab, so when you return to a tab it’ll display what you saw when you left it. Each inbox works this way too. Give it a try, we think you’ll like it.

Scheduled downtime: Saturday, December 13, 2008

We will be upgrading some of our servers from 9pm - 12am EST on Saturday, December 13, 2008. The application will be unavailable during this time. We apologize for any inconvience this may cause.

New Feature: Sponsor document upload.

Due to popular demand, sponsor administrators can now upload documents to the TPA. This includes the following file types: Excel (xls), Word (doc), rich text format (rtf), text (txt), PDF, and zip.

TPAs will see a new Inbox item, “New Documents,” indicating new submitted documents waiting for processing. Documents that a TPA uploads will continue to work the same, with the addition of the new file types listed above.

Enhancement: "Accessed" column for plans

It hasn’t been clear when a plan sponsor last logged in to RetireHQ. Until now. We’ve added an “Accessed” column to the Plans tab in TPA mode.

New Feature: Bulk contribution importer for TPAs

TPAs that prefer to keep each plan’s past contributions in RetireHQ can easily do so using the new bulk importer. Just click “Import Contributions” on the Contributions in TPA mode.

We took a unique marketing approach in our booth at the ASPPA...

We took a unique marketing approach in our booth at the ASPPA Annual Conference. We received lots of positive feedback and had a blast. A big thanks goes to our artist, Veronica Jones.

P.S. We can’t take all the credit for this, as we borrowed the idea from Freshbooks.

ASPPA Attendees, Say Hi.

This week, we’ll be at the ASPPA Annual Conference in DC. If you are also there, please stop by and say hi. We promise you won’t miss our booth.

2008 ASPPA Annual Conference

We will attend the ASPPA Annual Conference in DC this year! If you’re wondering why we’ve been a bit light on feature and updates lately, we’re busy planning and preparing our booth. We promise it will be different and exciting, so please stop by; we’re booth #307. See you there!

New pricing model

We’ve tweaked our pricing model. We now offer an à la carte structure which allows TPAs of all types to use RetireHQ as they see fit.

This was something that several TPAs requested, and we are happy to simplify the process of adding participants.

Better dates

You can now use the MM/DD/YY date format in any date field (the “YY” part wasn’t possible until now). A lot of people like to enter dates this way so hopefully this makes the app a bit more usable.

In addition to this, all date & time values now display as Eastern Time (US & Canada), a.k.a. EDT.

New feature: Rejection reason for Contributions and Census

Before today, there was no way for a TPA to provide a reason for rejecting contributions or a census back to a plan sponsor (apart from calling or sending a separate email). Now, clicking the “Reject” action allows for an optional rejection reason which is included in the email notification to the plan sponsor, and is displayed on their rejected contribution or census.

New Clean Print Layouts

Today, we released support for clean print layouts. Sending your RetireHQ screens to the printer never looked better. We’re not big printers, but our customers tell us they are.

New Census Video

We just deployed a help video about our new census feature. This video is accessible on our tour page and in the application under the Censuses tab.

Password reset, finally

We postponed this feature for too long, but now it’s available. In case you forget your RetireHQ password, TPAs and their plan sponsors now have the opportunity to request a reset of their password. Just click the “I forgot my password” link from the login screen of your account.

Website updated

We just updated our website to reflect some of the new features we added recently. Check it out! We hope to update the tour videos in upcoming weeks.

Census and other goodies now available

We just deployed the biggest release since our launch. Most notably, the census module is now available. Your clients can now submit their yearly census information through the RetireHQ web interface. It’s secure, fast, and convenient.

Many other features and bug fixess were also deployed with this release. Here are a few:

The list of available participants to add to your contributions is now alphabetically sorted.

Importing contributions now restricts you to only contributing participants that have at least requested participation in the plan.

Employees terminated more than one plan year ago no longer show up in the list of possible contributing participants.

Restrictions on password length were increased.

The backend for contribution storage was simplified and enhanced. This should provide some performance improvements.

We look forward to hearing your feedback. Please contact us if you have any questions about this update.
